Monday 16th December

Dear Leeds,

48 hours until I go home for Christmas. If I wasn't coming back I'd be really sad, but since I am, I'm not :D
Despite gloomier weather forecasts it's pretty nice and our morning views are still spectacular.
Today campus was full of smiling people in weird cloaks and funny hats. No, we didn't get invaded by wizards, it's graduation time. I won't be here for mine next year...

4:15pm

very foggy 11am

See you in 2014!

Love,
Anna-Maria

Wednesday 4th December

Yo Leeds!

Your Christmas market really has good food! 50cm long Bratwurst, garlic bread, Stollen, honey mead...wish I could afford to eat there every day :D

And a self-portrait :D Can you find me?

Two more weeks until I go home for Christmas! Weeeee!

Love,
Anna-Maria

#2 Wendy and Suzy’s Journey to Inner Beauty in 101 Steps.

Step #2
Snugly blankets!

Winter is coming and when Sustainable Suzy goes to her friend Wasteful Wendy’s room this morning, she runs into a wall of hot air. The heater is on 10 (out of 10).
It’s like a sauna in here! Suzy complains.
I was cold! Wendy says and shrugs.
You’re wearing a T-shirt! Suzy shakes her head. I haven’t even turned on my radiator yet. Put on a jumper and snuggle into a blanket like I do!
Wendy rolls her eyes. Geez, Suzy! Leave me alone. It’s included in the rent, so who cares?
Suzy feels like crying. Who cares indeed.

Sunday 24th November

Dear Leeds,
It’s very sweet of you that you’re trying to make me feel at home by opening a Christkindelmarkt in the city centre. I took a look around for the first time last night before going to the see the doctor (in 3D!). Glühwein for £4 is a bit steep but 50p for a slice of Stollen is a pretty good deal. It was very crowded on a Saturday evening, just like the real thing :D

One month until Christmas!

Love,
Anna-Maria

#1 Wendy and Suzy’s Journey to Inner Beauty in 101 Steps.

Step #1
Keep the lid on!
Wasteful Wendy likes boiled eggs but she never puts a lid on the saucepan when she boils them. She could save a lot of energy with a lid and the water would boil much faster. When Wendy boils eggs she has to put the stove on 5, but when Sustainable Suzy does it with the lid on, 2 is enough to make the water boil. Works for anything in a saucepan, soup, spag bol sauce, gravy, milk, you get the idea.

Wednesday 10th October

Dear Leeds,

When I stand opposite the Old Broadcasting House in the evening, there is a moment, about one minute long, when the setting sun is reflected in the window and shines on me from both sides. Pretty trippy.

You do have a lot of interestingly shaped buildings.

But you know, beauty is not just shapes and colours and surfaces. Life should be beautiful from the inside, too. This is why I’m going to introduce my two imaginary friends to you. They are called Wasteful Wendy and Sustainable Suzy. They’re both lovely people but they have quite different habits, different ways of doing things. You’ll see.
Talk to you soon!

Love,
Anna-Maria

PS: Feel free to share Wendy and Suzy’s adventures with many many people.

Saturday 16th November

Dear Leeds,

So rugby is a big thing for you? I have to admit, I'm not a sports fan really. But I could get into it if you arrange for some Kpop happening in return, yes? Thanks for holding back with the rain last night.

Slightly creepy sky this evening...
Good night and as always with
Love,
Anna-Maria
